Real Madrid and Liverpool are looking to mull out a deal for Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos according to reports from various Spanish media outlets. The Spaniard has been a peripheral figure at Real this season and it has been reported that the 21-year-old now ‘regrets’ signing for Real.

Signed from Real Betis last summer, Ceballos has only made 19 appearances in La Liga this season whilst failing to complete the full 90 minutes even once for the Blancos.

The youngster is believed to have felt humiliated when he was summoned on to the pitch for a mere 20 seconds against Leganes on 18th of February. And now after playing a total of 212 minutes this season at the Spanish capital – the playmaker is believed to be eyeing a quick move away.

Ceballos caught the eye with his play last season for Betis. He then went on to win Golden Player award at last year’s Under-21 European Championship, which Spain lost to Germany.

That made Real put in a release clause of £435.5m into his contract after signing the man for 17 million Euros. However, Florentino Perez is expected to accept an offer way below that amount after the midfielder failed to get ahead of the likes of Luka Modric, Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Matteo Kovacic in the pecking order.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are yet to utilise their funds to replace Coutinho, who moved to Barcelona in January. The Catalan club shelled out a massive £142m for the Brazilian and Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring his replacement this summer.

And now according to reports from Don Balon, Klopp has identified Ceballos as the man to replace their former playmaker.

The Red have been linked with a number of midfield targets this season with everyone having the knowledge that they will have a big war chest this coming summer.

Naby Keita of RB Leipzig is already guaranteed to join, whilst Emre Can is looking likely to leave.

The German midfielder’s contract expires this summer and that means he will be free to join clubs for free.
